And just why is creativity important in the first place? Lots and lots of witty remarks. You'll laugh and you'll love it.

Creativity and maths!

Arthur Benjamin is known as the Mathemagician. You just have to watch this, it's soooooooooooooo cool!!!! (And this, from of Litt. Major mind you)
Arthur lets us in on an interesting secret, he uses words to memorize numbers, in a mnemonic fashion. This reminded me automatically of Tony Buzan's work, and mindmaps.

Arthur Benjamin: Lightning calculation and other "Mathemagi

www.ted.com In a lively show, "mathemagician" Arthur Benjamin races a team of calculators to figure out 3-digit squares in his head, performs a massive mental calculation, and guesses a few birth days. How does he do it? He'll be happy to tell you.

Your turn: Am I right?

RinchenChodron

Yes, schools kill creativity! Most teachers are so restricted in what they can present due to the Testing mentality. I'm a former school psychologist and I do beleive that much reform is needed in our educational system. If the teacher's creativity is stiffled by the system, this ripples down.
